Acworth Home Remodel.

As with many renovations, this small master suite remodel quickly turned into a whole house update. For this homeowner, entertaining and connection with family was key. We were asked to reevaluate the existing kitchen, dining room, living, and sitting areas to enhance connectivity and create a stunning cooking and eating area. In doing this, it was critical not to lose the charm of this craftsman bungalow and ensure that each room maintained a sense of coziness and personality. To accomplish this, we first swapped the kitchen and dining room and enlarged the openings between these spaces and the living room. Our freestanding range was positioned along the shared wall with the living room, allowing for a feature exhaust hood, stone backsplash and range shelf.

The oversized kitchen island backs up to this area, positioning the sink where it would maintain a view through an existing window. The end of the kitchen is flanked by the fridge and floor-to-ceiling pantry, with a drop zone and additional drawer storage centered between these elements. On the opposite end of this space, the new dining room end wall is clad with shiplap, boardered by two wine racks with bar storage and refrigeration below. Throughout this process, no windows or exterior doors were moved, but rather served as a guide to influence the architecture of this renovation. Finally, in the living room an existing office was opened up to the space, providing a rear yard connection via a glass sliding door, additional seating, and a small office nook on your way to the master bedroom.
